Thermaseal

About Thermaseal

Geoff Ball founded Hagley Windows and Doors in 1984. In 1992, Thermaseal was added to the Hagley Building Products portfolio as an exclusive supplier of double glazing within the group.

By 2016, a site in the Waterloo Business Park was acquired and a new factory and plant commissioned to suit the group’s growing impact and strength in the Canterbury market.

Geoff’s investment meant Hagley could expand the supply of made-to-order windows and doors and Thermaseal could offer specialised glass products other than double glazing for both residential and commercial markets.

This new $20 million, 10,000 square metre factory allowed Geoff to bring together the two companies which had previously been on separate sites.

It was the first combined facility of its type in New Zealand and offered a massive increase in efficiency.

Highly trained, industry knowledgeable staff were brought in to operate the latest equipment from Europe including an automated double glazing line, heavy weight glass line, furnace, and more recently a lamination plant, a heat-soaking kiln and the region’s most advanced ceramic Digital Printer.

Loyalty & Demand

Thermaseal was formed in 1991 and operated out of a central city premises. Strong demand and customer loyalty enabled us to grow and move first into a larger purpose built modern factory and showroom in Wigram, Christchurch, but we have now outgrown that and recently made our second move to a newer, bigger, purpose built factory at 926 Halswell Junction Road, in the Waterloo Business Park, Christchurch.

State of the art

Our investments in state-of-the-art machinery together with well trained fabricators ensure that we can provide a high standard of double glazing to our customers. All our units are tested by BRANZ and comply with the EN 1279 and BS5719 standard.

Reputation & Respect

We market largely on the strength of our reputation and do not employ commissioned salespeople or canvas over the phone. We have a totally non-invasive sales policy.

We occupy a niche in the market place being large enough to possess the state of the art equipment and stock levels required to satisfy high end architectural projects yet small enough to and interested in producing bespoke designs for individual clients. Our range of technologies, processing, design and installation knowledge is second to none, as is our reputation!
